It’s ok, that’s Love – a drama that will make you crazy

Very recently I found out that I like dramas with psychological themes and that’s the case of this drama.

The story goes around Ji Hye Soo (Gong Hyo Jin), a doctor that chose be a psychiatry because she was afraid of perform surgeries and Jang Jae Yeol (Jo In Sung), a mystery writer and DJ that in a TV show attack Ji Hye Soo psychological convictions.

I can’t tell much about it but there are many issues in the past that turn out as serious mental issues and you will be anxious to know what was the reason for several actions. In the end you will realize that you are the only normal person in the world. Or maybe not…

Ji Hye Soo was great at this drama, she is very good when she has to play a traumatized or crazy person, I have seen her in another drama called The Master’s Sun (with So Ji Sub!!!! Loved it). She didn’t disappointed me, she is very talented but I was a bit shocked when I saw how skinny she was. I am not against slim girls, but she is much prettier when she is a little bit more… more… cute (not fat).

Jang Jae Yeol was great too, in one moment you fell in love with his character because he is cool and strong and in the next moment you fell in love even more when you find out how fragile and traumatized he is.

That’s a great option if you are not the kind of person that likes silly romantic dramas, it has a lot of deep issues and tragic stories. I loved it and you must be crazy to don’t like it too.

Who Are You – a scary mystery

This is a story full of mysteries, at first I didn’t give much credit to it, but to be honest I ended enjoying it a lot. You have real crime cases and supernatural powers, how can you resist it?

The story goes around Detective Yang Si Ohn (So Yi Hyun) that is involved in a criminal incident where her boyfriend lost his life and she was seriously injured and was in coma for a long time. When she wakes up she was sent to the Lost and Found Center where she has to work with an incredulous cop Cha Gun Woo (Ok Taecyeon).

They start working together solving murder cases related with the belongs in the lost and found center. Now Yang Si Ohn must use her supernatural ability to solve the cases while tries to convince Cha Gun Woo of her powers. But will they just solve the cases?

So Yi Hyun was great at this drama, she is very athetic and beautiful. I must say that is not easy be a detective with supernatural powers and a tragic past, but she did it. I do not remember her from other dramas, but I liked her.

That’s the second supernatural drama staring Ok Taecyeon that I have watched, he was great at Let’s Fight Ghost too. He was nice at it but there is something about him that I don’t like… he is great but I can’t love him as I normally do with other actors.

That’s my suggestion for you, if you haven’t watch it yet, please, give it a chance. It’s a surprising drama.

Love Cells – a short drama

This is one of my “Weekend Dramas”… When I don’t have much time to spend in a drama and I don’t wanna start a drama I won’t be able to watch, I just watch a short drama to fill this gap of time in my life.
I watched Love Cells, a drama with 15 episodes with 15 minutes each… very short but very cute.

The story goes around Dae Choong (Park Sun Ho), a boy that has a crush on a pop-star named Seo Rin, but he is totally hopeless, a lazy and not so hygienic person. One day a love cell comes out his body and goes to a cat nearby, it’s a cell of his body that is trying to survive.

The cell combined with the cat become a woman named Nebi (Kim Yoo Jung), she will try everything to help him to date the pop-star. Of course it wasn’t to be an easy task, or a reasonable one.

It’s a light drama, with nothing deep or tragic going on, it’s just something you should what to relax or something.

Park Sun Ho is handsome and cute, and during the short time I saw him in this drama he seemed ok. I would like to see more of his work…

Kim Yoo Jung played an air-headed girl, very funny but her role wasn’t very difficult either, so I can’t tell how talented she is. I have to look for more dramas with her to have a more concrete opinion.

I hope you enjoy this drama, it’s something you can watch while waiting for your dentist…

My Shy Boss – a company love

I was waiting for a long time for the end of this drama, so I could watch it at once. What can I say? I am not disappointed at all, however I would do a different end… Please, don’t misunderstand me, I liked this drama, however I was expecting something more exciting in the end.

Sometimes the “Happy End” is not enough… you wanna something more. But that’s ok, it’s a cute drama anyway.

The story goes around Eun Hwan Ki (Yeon Woo Jin), a brilliant CEO of a PR company, however he is extremely shy, and when I say extremely, I mean it. He is so introverted that just few people saw him, to be honest most of the people fear him for no reason.

There was a suicide case in his company three years ago, his secretary jumped from his office window and it traumatized him even more, so Eun Hwan Ki decides to take care of the dead employee family. What he couldn’t imagine is that the dead secretary sister would come to his company looking for revenge.

Chae Ro Woon (Park Hye Soo) is the dead secretary sister, she is very communicative and even a bit nosy, the opposite of Eun Hwan Ki. She is looking for the truth to expose everything, however it won’t be easy to find the responsible.

In this drama we can see that there are more than we can tell, people are more than they show and that a good boss is the one that can bring up the best in his employees. There are many moments to cry and laugh, people break up and new romances bloom.

Yeon Woo Jin was fantastic in this drama, he could manage different emotions in a light way that made my heart race. He is not just handsome (but he is in fact), he is extremely talented, I must recognize it. I hope I can see him in more dramas in the future.

Park Hye Soo was a real star in this drama, she was so funny and so dramatic at several times that I was impressed. She is very beautiful too, but what really impressed me is that she isn’t the normal slim biotype, she has some muscles around her bones, what’s great, I don’t think skinny girls are pretty at all.

This drama is a combination of everything I like… a terrible secret, cute couples, some shirtless scenes and the power of true love overcoming everything! Watch it too and have fun!

My Lovable Girl – a drama with sweet songs and tears

The story goes around Hyun Wook (Rain), a talented man that discover and train singers and song writers, but after his girlfriend died in front of him, he disappeared, 3 years later he comes back to help his dead girlfriend’s sister, Se Na (Krystal), she is struggling with money issues. Hyun Wook can’t play anymore, he is traumatized and somehow Se Na must be the key to him find redemption.

In this drama there is a lot of cool things, like someone hiding secrets, a triangle love (actually is more like a pentagon love) and airport scenes.

Rain (Bi) is fantastic in this drama, he plays a traumatized man with a great talent, I was wondering if he could really play the piano or it was a trick. He is very cute, a great actor indeed, I would like to see him again in another drama.

Krystal Jung is very beautiful and talented, one more time I was wondering if she could really play the piano, it seemed so real… I am looking forward to see her again in another drama, she is cute.

Well, that is my suggestion for a great weekend marathon drama, full of secrets, tears and love. Enjoy it!

Mask - a thriller drama

If you like a thriller, that’s your drama! There are so many great aspects here, mental illness, rich families, murder, a psycho/crime genius, romance and much more.

The story goes around a rich man with mental issues that is struggling to take his place to control his family’s company. For mysterious events Min Woo (Joo Ji Hoon) meets Byun Ji Sook (Soo Ae), a normal girl that is posing as Seo Eun Ha (Soo Ae), both are engaged and get married, but Byun Ji Sook is controlled for her evil brother-in-law and is forced to play as Seo Eun Ha.

I can’t even start to explain what happens in this drama, because before you absolve one shocking thing, there is another one coming. It is a great drama.

Joo Ji Hoon was good at this drama, it was satisfactory in fact. It was the first time I saw him in a drama, I liked it, but I didn’t love it. He is handsome and talented and was pretty good acting as a disturbed man.

Soo Ae is so beautiful that it took my breathe away, and the most beautiful thing o her are her eyes, they are so Korean! Korean people like big eyes, but let’s be honest, those small and cute eyes are the best, it is what make them Korean! She is very talented too, I liked are acting.

So, find some time I your busy schedule to watch this awesome drama. You won’t regret!

Moonlight Drawn by Clouds (구르미 그린 달빛)

Honestly, I don’t know how to start this post today... In the past 58 minutes I have experienced the most different emotions, I hated, loved, laughed and cried, all this just watching this wonderful Korean drama. You don’t need more clues to understand that I’ve loved it, right?

The story was amazing from the beginning to the end, nothing there disappointed me and I wouldn’t think in a best end even if I could live 1000 years. It’s a historical drama and I thought I wouldn’t like it because normally we don’t like old stuff, but I was completely wrong… It was incredible!! Ok… let’s talk about the main actor and actress.

Park Bo Gum really surprised me, he is just 23 but so talented, I was impressed with his acting and I imagine that play a historical Crown Prince isn’t an easy task. But he did it… totally perfect! Something that I couldn’t stop staring was his mouth (oh my Gosh, such a beautiful mouth with that cute lips…), doesn’t matter if he had to be serious or laughing, he was amazing. (So Ji Sub don’t be jealous, you are my favorite yet).

Talking about surprises… Kim Yoo Jung was fantastic as a eunuch, but are you ready to the most shocking part?! She is just 17 years old… yeah! 17!!! How someone so young can be so talented?! With 17 I couldn’t even remember the day of the week in that day (actually sometimes I can’t remember it either, even being older now), how can she remember all her lines and beside that act so perfectly as an actress. I’m sure I’m going to be shocked more times if this young lady keeps acting.

I’m quite sure that you have watched it and if you didn’t, please stop doing whatever you are doing now and watch it immediately! You won’t regret it, you will fall in love just like I did…

Where is my Crown Prince? I want one now… How about you?!

Let's Fight Ghost - it won't just scary you but surprise you!

Let's Fight Ghost (싸우자 귀신아) is a drama about ghosts that can be scary and cute at the same time! A lot of people were watching it and I confess I was curious about it, how they would make a ghost drama romantic and scary. By the way, I love horror movies but I don't believe  ghosts or eveil spirits...

The plot is well written, it goes around a boy, Bong Pal (Ok Taec Yeon), that can see ghosts and makes money using his power, he has no consideration with the spirits and the only thing that matters is the payment after the work is done. So one day he receives a new hint about a ghost girl in a school and from that moment on his life changes. The female ghost, Hyun Ji (Kim So Hyun), isn't easy to take down and she beat him, beside the humiliation they surprisilly become friends and you start wishing that they could become something more... Several mysterious events surround them and he uses her ghost abilities to solve the problems they face.

In this drama Ok Taec Yeon was good, however his acting skills lack in some points, maybe after getting some experience he can become an excellent actor, right now he is just good. It's important express certain emotions and involve the audience that is watching it... but I must say that he is really good in the action scenes!

This is one of the few times where I liked more the actress than the actor, as a ghost Kim So Hyun was fantastic, I cried and laughed with here several times and her ability with martial arts was satisfatory, I liked her acting in this drama! And she is cute too!

Movies and dramas with ghosts are the best to watch with your boyfriend or gilrfriend, this way during the scary parts you have an excuse to hug each other! lol

So, tell me... Do you believe in ghosts?

Kiss at the first sign!

Talk about kiss wasn't a big deal in my life, especially in this crazy world where people are losing their minds and being more and more explicit in their affective demonstrations. However, I was shocked after watch a Korean drama.

I was watching Oh My Venus and my heart was beating so fast while the kiss moment was approaching, my hands were sweating, my mouth was dry and I was locking in the bottle of my throat the scream of happiness for finally see them together. Now please, imagine my disappointment when the expected kiss was just a peck kiss (the lips touching quickly).

Both character were over 30 years old and that was the kiss?! Really?! Come on, kids around the world have shared deeper kisses than those two. After a moment of deep and profound reflection, I understood that I was looking the reflection of a whole culture, with different standards and different attitudes.

So, I asked a female friend about her experiences kissing, she told me that in the first date they never kiss and when they do kiss, they have a peck kiss first to later on start kissing for real. I thought it was just with girls, but than I asked a male friend and he told me that he never kiss in the first date and normally the first kiss is a peck kiss.

But of course there are open mouth kisses and with tongue too, but they don't do it in public or with someone they barely know. They keep these things for private moments… there are others ways to show affection than pressing your tongue in your boy/girlfriend's throat to everybody see.

My Korean female friend's first kiss was with 22 years old and my Korean male friend's first kiss was with 17. I don't have to say how in that moment I felt like Mary Magdalene, the prostitute… I will never reveal how old I was when I first kissed! Not even under severe torture (maybe just if So Ji Sub asks me… I can’t hide anything from him).

In the occidental culture people believe they have to make themselves happy, without a second thought… so it causes a disintegration of values, kids are not kids anymore, a kiss isn't a proof of affection and “I love you” is the same as “good morning” these days. However, the oriental culture (and more specific here the Korean) are trying to preserve their values and beliefs.

During the dramas I have been watching I could see that more than the story itself there was a group of values being thought. The respect to the oldest, the teamwork in schools, workplaces and life, the respect to the body through alimentary habits, and so forth.

People there don't touch each other for no reason, their space and bodies are special that's why that even a simple and pure peck kiss has an entire different meaning. Honestly I envy those values and standards, I believe we have much to learn with the oriental cultures.

Kiss someone is good, but kiss someone you really love and care about is much better… so, stop kissing-first-and-asking-later and starting looking for the right person to kiss!

I’m curious now… How old were you when you first kissed?
Please post your comment!!

Splash Splash Love (퐁당퐁당 LOVE)

Splash Splash Love surprised me because it was extremely short, just two episodes with about an hour each one! I must be honest here, I'm not a big fan of time travel dramas, because normally the main characters can stay together.

Something that is totally understandable, it's difficult to abandon your famili and life in the future with all the commodities (internet, hot water, a toilet) to stay in the past, even if the love of your life is there. So I'm not interested in stories with no happy endings…

However against all my senses I started watching it… well let me talk about the story first and then I can tell you my impression on it.

The story goes around Dan Bi (Kim Seul Gi), a girl that hates mathematic and has a strange connection with the rain that allows her to travel into time… in the day she's going to make an important test to the university she runs away and jumps into a puddle.
She travels to the the past and meet the king Lee Do (Yoon Doo Joon), he understood she was an eunuch and allows her to assist him with mathematical issues. Time passes and they fall in love, however life in the past it's not easy...

Yoon Doo Joon was good like a prince, I almost didn’t recognize him from other dramas I have seen.

Kim Seul Gi was ok.. however she lacks in so many ways as a person who was transported to the past (maybe the plot wasn'thelpful)… she definitely won't be in my top 10 list! Sorry… But something remarkable about her is the ability of look like a high school girl, I would never imagine she was almost my age, an actress with 25 years old that plays a girl with 18 must be reconized by her acting skills (and good genes).

It's difficult to judge this drama once it's so short, but if you don't have nothing better to do you could give a chance to it… or maybe just take a nap… I don't know...

Choco Bank - a sweet drama

If you are busy these days but would like to watch a good drama in you free time, I have a good suggestion here... Choco Bank. This drama has just 6 episodes with 10 minutes each, you could watch it while doing the number 2 in the bathroom (aigoo, don't do it ok?!).

It's a light drama with a simple plot, however is good to clear your stressed mind maybe... The story goes around with Ha Choco (Park Eun Bin) the owner of a cafe or choco shop (or as I prefer, heaven in the earth), a place where you can find the most delicious cakes and sweeties, and Kim Eun Haeng (Kim Jonh In), the male character is an ex banker that lost his job and hopes. Ha Choco offers a job in her shop to him if he agrees to help her with her financial life. He agrees and then they have to help each other and figure out if they can stay together being so different.

Kim Jong In is good in this drama, he has a serious and angry countenance but during the drama he shows a sweet heart, it proves his ability to play different roles and emotions. He isn't in my top 10 hot actor's list, but he is talented, what is great!

Park Eun Bin was responsible for something unprecedented here, that's the first time I liked the female character more than male. She was great, her acting skills are very high, however she isn't in my top 10 list eighter. Such a shame...

Well, that's my suggestion for a quick and funny drama, I hope you have fun just like I did!

W - between two worlds

I have seem many comments about this drama, I was quite curious about it so I started watching it… the comments I will make now are just my opinion, but coincidently it's the same of many others I have read online.

The drama takes place in Seoul and in a parallel world from a cartoon. The cartoonist created a famous Web to on called W, but suddenly the cartoonist daughter, Oh Yeon Joo (Han Hyo Joo) is dragged into this world and she saves the male main character, Kang Chul (Lee Jong Suk). From that point on their worlds are connected and the interference can  be crucial to determine the lives of those people who live in the cartoon world. Oh Yeon Joo and Kang Chul fall in love, but the whole drama make you wonder if it's possible a human girl and a fictional character stay together… Watch and confirm it!

Lee Jong Suk was fantastic in this drama, just like in Pinocchio, I'm a big fan  of his expressions, specially his naughty face, happy face, serious face and even his crying face! And in the whole drama there weren't many single shirtless scenes, but it was good anyway, just to prove that to be a good actor you don't need a perfect body and be shirtless in every scene (but he has a perfect body indeed).

Han Hyo Joo was good playing her role, her acting skills are pretty good of course, but maybe because she isn't that famous to me, I wouldn't add her in my top 5 best actresses list (maybe she would be in my top 10 list). The dramatic and you-will-cry-like-a-baby scenes were fantastic,  she showed a high level there, however I would have used someone else to play this role, maybe…. ME! I totally volunteer for that, and I wouldn't ask for payment  (kiss Lee Jong Suk would be enough payment for a life time) LOL!!!!!!

So,  that's it. They got this crazy idea of a real world and a fictional colliding and made a really good drama. Congrats to the actor and to the team, you just did it!!
