The Scholar Who Walks the Night

What can I say? I just love historical dramas and The Scholar Who Walks the Night is another good example of a great drama. The plot was well written and you can experience innumerous emotions.

The story goes around Kim Sung Yeol, a vampire that is determined to protect the King and the people and a bookseller called Jo Yang Sun that is in fact a girl but works as a boy to help her family. Kim Sung Yeol path is connected to Jo Yang Sun in the past, present and future, they are the key to release the kingdom from an evil vampire that controls the king.

While I was watching it I was wondering if it was common to girls disguise themselves into boys, because that’s the third drama I have watched with this same idea. I’m not saying it’s a bad idea at all, it’s cute indeed.

This drama was the third drama I have seen Lee Joon Ki playing, and I must say that he was fantastic in each one of them. I don’t remember him in contemporary dramas, just in historical dramas, but he is so talented that I can’t complain, I wish I can watch more and more dramas with him!

Lee Yoo Bi was pretty good too, but her eyes were so big that I almost didn’t believe she was Korean. That was the first time I saw her in a drama, but she was ok, I liked the way she played a naive girl.

In this drama you will fall in love for more characters than the usual, because even the secondary characters have appealing stories and you can’t ignore them.

Unfortunatlly I must confess that I was expecting more from the last episode, I didn’t like how things ended… if it was me, things would have been done in a different way. But it’s a great drama, you must watch it and see for yourself.

Arang and the Magistrate - a drama from another world

I must confess that I have just watched Arang and the Magistrate for one reason, to check if Shin Min Ah was my number 1 actress or not. Since I saw her in So Ji Sub’s drama “Oh My Venus”, I fell in love with her, however I wasn’t sure if it was because she is a great actress or because she was working with So Ji Sub (it’s almost impossible something don’t be better just because So Ji Sub is there).

Unfortunately the second option is right, she isn’t that incredible, please, don’t misunderstand me, she is a fantastic professional, but she’s not my number 1. Maybe my number 2 now… The number 1 is  Park Shinhye.

Ok… about the drama! Arang and the Magistrate is a historical drama about a ghost that asks the Magistrate’s help to solve her death mystery and find her murder. The Magistrate is looking for his missing mother and just agrees to help her because maybe her memories can lead him to find out what happened with his mother.

It’s a cute drama with many fictional elements and dark mysteries, it’s a great option for someone looking for a light and funny drama, with a lot of action and mystery.

It’s the second drama I watched with Lee Joon Gi, coincidentally both are historical dramas and he was amazing in both of them. He plays his role with excellency and in the actions scenes he was good (I could see that the elaborate movements wasn’t him, but that’s ok anyway).

Shin Min Ah was good in this drama too, she is cute and talented (even not being my number 1). She played a ghost and was part of some action scenes too, the perfect balance between kindness and brutality. And I must add that she is really beautiful, one of the most beautiful actresses I have ever seen (you can see it in this photo).

This drama will surprise you… because I’m sure you will be expecting them to be together, but they won’t (spoiler alert!!!). However the end of it is fantastic! Have a great time watching it!!!

Scarlet Heart: Ryeo - a historical drama

Historical dramas are so nice, the first one I have watched was “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds” and then “Splash, Splash Love”, this drama is the third drama I’m watching.

There are two kinds of Historical dramas, the ones based in facts and really dramatic (with a lot of blood and entrails) and the ones based in facts and with more romance. If you have read something I wrote before you know that I’m the romantic kind that prefer the second kind of historical dramas.

Scarlet Heart:Ryeo is part of the first group, with a well written plot, nice clothes and beautiful and talented actors. The story has a romantic touch, but it’s mixed in a lot of violence, betrayal, facts, it’s not a light drama that will make your heart flys, it’s the kind of drama that will make your heart beats so fast and you will be always surprised and afraid of something. This drama it's like the Korean verison of "Game of Thrones", when you start liking a character, it will die!    :/

However it doesn’t mean that it’s bad, actually it’s is really good, it’s so real that when you realize you are addicted to it.

The story goes around Hae Soo (Lee Ji Eun), a girl that is transported to the past during an eclipse, she gets into a princess’ body and met the princes in that time. The whole drama is about their fight for the throne and for her heart, it’s incredible what some of them can do for the power.

Lee Joon Ki is so good being so bad, he is so evil and sweet at the same time that I was confused between love and hate… He plays the 4th prince Wang So, someone with a terrible scar in his face but that in my opinion is handsome anyway. He is fantastic as an actor, maybe because he is very mature…

Lee Ji Eun is one of the most beautiful actresses I have ever seen, as Hae Soo she is perfect even I would fall in love with her (and I am a girl). Her expressions are so realistic that for a second I’m transported to the story and when I realize I’m crying and laughing with her (people around me think I’m crazy… it’s her fault).

Kang Ha Neul is the 8th Prince, a charming type that will melt your heart in the beginning, as an actor I don’t have anything to say, I am speechless with his incredible abilities and his beautiful lips. lol

Hong Jong Hyun played the 3rd Prince Wang Yo, the vilan of the whole story! But I must be honest and admit that he is talented and handsome, he is so good acting that I hate him for real (I’m a bit crazy and can’t separate  reality and fiction sometimes).

There are more princes of course, and they are as handsome as their brother I mentioned before, but you must watch this drama to know them all.

If you like Historical Dramas just like me, it’s a great option of drama… A lot of people are watching it right now and if you are not one of them, hurry up and start it as soon as possible.
