Thumping Spike – a sporty drama

I am not a Sporty person, so I don’t like to watch dramas with topics like this, but I changed my mind completely. Thumping Spike is a kind of drama that makes you regret the several moments you skipped Physical Education. I am glad because recently I have heard that a second season of this drama is coming… I can’t wait to see it!

Thumping Spike is a drama about Kang Se Ra (Hwang Seung Eon), a volleyball star that is forced to help the team in the last position in the Korean rank, while helping them she founds courage and some answer. The captain of the team brings her in and Hwang Jae Woong (Song Jae Rim), the best player in the team, is always arguing with her… Can you guess who is going to fall in love for her?!

Song Jae Rim is handsome, but I definitely didn’t like his hair in this drama. He has an athletic body and more than that, he is awesome in the running scenes. I got tired just looking at his hardworking in the games.

Hwang Seung Eon is pretty of course and very sporty too, she played well her role as a volleyball player. She has an innocent face and is a talented actress, I hope I’ll see her again in other drama soon.

So, you have two options now… Stand up and start practicing a sport or sit down and watch this incredible drama (I prefer the second option of course).

The Scholar Who Walks the Night

What can I say? I just love historical dramas and The Scholar Who Walks the Night is another good example of a great drama. The plot was well written and you can experience innumerous emotions.

The story goes around Kim Sung Yeol, a vampire that is determined to protect the King and the people and a bookseller called Jo Yang Sun that is in fact a girl but works as a boy to help her family. Kim Sung Yeol path is connected to Jo Yang Sun in the past, present and future, they are the key to release the kingdom from an evil vampire that controls the king.

While I was watching it I was wondering if it was common to girls disguise themselves into boys, because that’s the third drama I have watched with this same idea. I’m not saying it’s a bad idea at all, it’s cute indeed.

This drama was the third drama I have seen Lee Joon Ki playing, and I must say that he was fantastic in each one of them. I don’t remember him in contemporary dramas, just in historical dramas, but he is so talented that I can’t complain, I wish I can watch more and more dramas with him!

Lee Yoo Bi was pretty good too, but her eyes were so big that I almost didn’t believe she was Korean. That was the first time I saw her in a drama, but she was ok, I liked the way she played a naive girl.

In this drama you will fall in love for more characters than the usual, because even the secondary characters have appealing stories and you can’t ignore them.

Unfortunatlly I must confess that I was expecting more from the last episode, I didn’t like how things ended… if it was me, things would have been done in a different way. But it’s a great drama, you must watch it and see for yourself.

1% of Something - the drama that is more than enough

As you know I’m a romantic person, and as a romantic person I like cute and melodramatic romances… This is one of them, I really liked this one. I’m a bit afraid because in all my posts I’m saying that the dramas are good, they I have liked them… Maybe all Korean dramas are good or I’m lucky and just chose the good ones.

However let’s talk about the drama… It’s about a rich man, Lee Jae In, that is running his own business, a fancy hotel, but his grandfather is an extremely rich man and in his will he says that all his money is going to be to the person who marries Kim Da Hyun, an unknown kind teacher. Now you can imagine what happen next, they are going to sign a contract to date for 6 months, but will they survive 6 months together?! They have opposite personalities and hearts…

Ha Suk Jin and Jun So Min were extremely good, their characters were well played and I would like to see them again in a different drama…

Something extremely funny with dramas is that the rich guy is always handsome and young… well, maybe it happens in Korea because around here rich men are mostly ugly and old and with a huge belly and… aigo! It’s extremely convenient a rich and sexy man like the ones in Korean dramas.

Anyway… I totally recommend this drama, each episode is about 30 or 40 minutes, it’s not that long, so you can finish it very fast and start a new drama again!

Arang and the Magistrate - a drama from another world

I must confess that I have just watched Arang and the Magistrate for one reason, to check if Shin Min Ah was my number 1 actress or not. Since I saw her in So Ji Sub’s drama “Oh My Venus”, I fell in love with her, however I wasn’t sure if it was because she is a great actress or because she was working with So Ji Sub (it’s almost impossible something don’t be better just because So Ji Sub is there).

Unfortunately the second option is right, she isn’t that incredible, please, don’t misunderstand me, she is a fantastic professional, but she’s not my number 1. Maybe my number 2 now… The number 1 is  Park Shinhye.

Ok… about the drama! Arang and the Magistrate is a historical drama about a ghost that asks the Magistrate’s help to solve her death mystery and find her murder. The Magistrate is looking for his missing mother and just agrees to help her because maybe her memories can lead him to find out what happened with his mother.

It’s a cute drama with many fictional elements and dark mysteries, it’s a great option for someone looking for a light and funny drama, with a lot of action and mystery.

It’s the second drama I watched with Lee Joon Gi, coincidentally both are historical dramas and he was amazing in both of them. He plays his role with excellency and in the actions scenes he was good (I could see that the elaborate movements wasn’t him, but that’s ok anyway).

Shin Min Ah was good in this drama too, she is cute and talented (even not being my number 1). She played a ghost and was part of some action scenes too, the perfect balance between kindness and brutality. And I must add that she is really beautiful, one of the most beautiful actresses I have ever seen (you can see it in this photo).

This drama will surprise you… because I’m sure you will be expecting them to be together, but they won’t (spoiler alert!!!). However the end of it is fantastic! Have a great time watching it!!!
